Revolutionary War Leather Bayonet Scabbard

Very scarce Revolutionary War leather bayonet scabbard and belt frog for triangular bayonet. These scabbards are extremely rare as the survival rate of leather was very low. This is particularly rare as it is complete with its integrated belt frog. There is a small old repair in the middle and a tear in the belt frog.

The scabbard is hand stitched. the tip is missing. the scabbard portion has 10″ of its original leather and the scabbard retains its belt loop and the overall remaining leather is 13″

Nice Revolutionary War artifact that was probably made for a smoothbore buck and ball fowler.  Found in Louisa County, Virginia.
