Contemporary Jaeger completed by Ron Scott
Very fine Virginia style Wooden Patch Box rifle made for Ken Bretheur by Ron Scott, Ron Scott Flintlock .com, Albany, Oregon and Jon Bivens (Deceased formerly with Old Salem, Winston Salem, NC . The workmanship of this rifle was completed with great detail, designed and execution. It has a black walnut stock, a Davis flintlock, and beautiful castings. The rifle is stocked with it beautiful piece of black walnut, is accented with a sliding wooden patchbox, with wonderful relief carving, a wonderful ivory inlay in the check, engraved fashion hardware, and double gold wedding bands around the blued barrel at the breech and at the muzzle. The full octagon rifled barrel is approximately 60 caliber and is 31” long (and is 47” overall). The barrel has a beautiful hand-filed decorative rear sight, a hand-filed silver front sight, and a fashion nose cap. The rifle is not signed because it is the work of both Ron and Jon. Jon died before completing the rifle thus left the finished work to Ron Scott. Ron Scott provided the history of this wonderful flintlock.
