RARE 18th CENTURY NATIVE AMERICAN DOUBLE-BIT FORGED IRON TOMAHAWK
Dual-bit tomahawks heads are rare and were designed for use in close warfare. The head is an excellent example of early forging by a talented blacksmith. One side is slightly larger than the other, and the artisan’s work is visible in the hammered look of the iron surface. Excellent Condition with expected surface patination, light pitting and wear causing bit edges to become slightly blunt. No re-sharpening or restoration. Total Height is 19 inches. Bit to bit: 6 1/2 inches. Width of each bit about 2 1/2 inches.
Wonderful 18th century double blade tomahawk. Found in Ohio by George Carroll, Urbana, Ohio in 1970’s
