Antique 18th Century French Onion Bottle

Olive Green Glass Hand Blown ‘Onion” style bottle found along the Pamunkey River in Hanover County, Virginia in 1970’s. The bottle was found just east on the confluence of the South Anna and the North Anna Rivers. General Lafayette’s troops camped along the Pamunkey River en-route from their camp west of Fredericksburg, Virginia to their staging camp near Yorktown, Virginia in 1781. Exceptional condition with just a very small chip under the top lip. Beautiful Revolutionary War artifact with long collection history.

Provenance: Courtney Smith, Sandston, Virginia, to Dr. Francis Amos Collection, Rocky Mount, Virginia at the Virginia Arms Collectors Guns Show at the John Marshall Hotel, Richmond Virginia in 1970’s.
